Who needs tutoring

The time of extra lessons only being sought out by a select few with learning problems is long past. Today extra lessons have become the norm rather than the exception. Mobile Maths has been contracted for a diverse range of challenges that students face. Some of the most common challenges we help students overcome are the following:

A sudden drop in marks

A sudden drop in marks is common when a student enters a new grade. Starting a new grade means
  • new work builds on a previously established knowledge foundation
  • a faster pace is assumed
Students could experience a drop in marks if there are gaps in this “foundation” or because they struggle to adapt to the faster pace. A sudden drop in marks could also be explained by any of the other factors listed below.

A new teacher

In a classroom full of students it is impossible for a teacher to adapt their teaching style to suite each individual’s personality. If a teacher’s style does not appeal to the student, this impacts negatively on the student. Having a one-on-one tutor ensures adaptation to the student's personality.

Coaching to meet university criteria

We often help students who are aiming at a certain percentage or symbol for University admission to a course. We also assist distinction candidates by pointing out trick questions and doing exam coaching.

The unfair advantage

Students and parents that are keen to capitalize on South Africa’s current skills shortage use our services to ensure that they stay ahead of the pack. Many students use our tutors on a weekly basis to ensure they always have an understanding and won’t fall behind.

A Change in school

Schools don’t all cover the syllabus in the same sequence. Changing schools could result in work being missed. A personal tutor helps with the academic transition in time where students experience all the pressures of new friends, teachers and environments.
